For those of you who know me personally, you would know that I absolutely HATE celebrating my birthday!

This year felt different….I look back at my 40 years, and am overwhelmed by the love and support that surrounds me. I feel beyond lucky to have a healthy and happy family by my side, to live in the Pacific Northwest, where all four seasons are present (some more than others), and the ability to continue to grow and build my business. With that being said, I decided to embrace my 40 years by throwing an all WHITE themed party. I might hate celebrating my birthday, but I love any excuse to throw a party. Why not let that excuse be me this time!

First things first…Select a cheF…

Cooking for a large group stresses me out, so finding someone that could take that off my plate was essential. I decided to go with Les Saisons. Brittany’s creations are exactly how she describes… fresh, elegant and seasonal! I was able to select 3 appetizers to be passed prior to dinner, a starter, 2 entree options and a dessert. It was an experience that lasted until the stars were visible.

Can’t forget the cocktails!

I thought it would be fun to have a professional curate a fun cocktail list that felt unique! The overall goal was for the evening to feel like a night out, while being able to stay at home. I decided to hire Top It Off Bartending. Not only were their fresh and custom cocktails some of the best I have had but they also provided a fun experience with their cocktail smoker This goes without saying….but their white bar set up, fit with my theme perfectly.

Setting the vibe…

Once my small but mighty guest list was curated, I needed a set up that would accommodate the headcount. I rented tables, chairs, dishes, flatware and stemware from Party Pros, and all of my linens were rented through Arden. I purchased the placemats on my own from crate and barrel and they really finished off my table scape vision!

I cleared out TWO Trader Joe’s stores of all their white hydrangeas and hit the Dollar Tree for the simple yet low profile vases! I also wanted to keep cost down here, and I knew I needed lots of flowers to run the full length of the table. I purchased my candle sticks and holders from amazon…. 4 of the 12 delivered broken, however enough remained to finish off of my vision!

the Finer Details…

I found a menu/name card template on Etsy that I loved, and re-created it on my own in Canva! Then, I had them printed at my local FedEx store. I finished them off by purchasing little brass clips from Amazon and assembled them together to finish off the look.

i can’t throw a party without Balloons…even if it’s a 40th birthday…

I purchased a variety of different sized balloons ranging from 12”, 24” & 36” to create a fun yet simple photo backdrop!

My girlfriends did the rest by bringing large white “40” balloons, a delicious cake, and took me down memory lane by posting pictures everywhere of our last 22 years of friendship…The “DOM” was the icing on the cake..no pun intended.
